Prevention information

Everyone can take a few simple steps to limit the consequences of an emergency. By getting informed about the risks in your area in advance, you can prepare yourself and apply the right reflexes before, during and after a disaster. This way you lighten the work of the police, ambulance or fire brigade.

More resilient

Risks are always present in our daily lives. Therefore, it is important that you can identify those risks and respond correctly in an emergency situation. Being aware of risks is a step in the right direction towards greater resilience.

Resilience – strength as a society to be able to deal with and survive an emergency.

Prevention information campaigns

Governments run prevention information campaigns to inform you about risks and emergencies. These campaigns are based on four main pillars:

  1. Get informed (e.g. What are the appropriate information channels in an emergency?)
  2. Act efficiently (e.g. What should you do in case of a storm or fire?)
  3. Prepare (e.g. How do you make your own emergency plan?)
  4. Together (e.g. How can you help in an emergency situation?)
